Hope & Comfort's mission is to provide sustained access to essential hygiene products to support the health, dignity, and confidence of people experiencing hygiene insecurity across Massachusetts.
How It Started, Where We’re Going
Hope & Comfort began when founders Jeff and Loren Feingold discovered an often-overlooked reality: millions of people struggle to afford basic hygiene products such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and deodorant. What started as a request for hygiene product donations in lieu of birthday gifts quickly revealed a widespread and persistent need.
The organization began in the Feingold family's garage and became a nonprofit in 2011. Since then, Hope & Comfort has grown into one of the largest hygiene distribution organizations in the Northeast, working with more than 625 schools, food pantries, health centers, shelters, and community organizations across Massachusetts.
Today, Hope & Comfort helps hundreds of thousands of people access the hygiene products they need to stay healthy, attend school, maintain employment, and participate fully in daily life. Through strategic purchasing, statewide distribution, and strong community partnerships, we are building a future where everyone has reliable access to essential hygiene products.
